SELECTIVE LICENSING · REVIEWED RECORD

Nottingham selective licensing: 2023 designation

Nottingham’s current selective designation covers the area shown in Annex A of its sealed notice, rather than automatically including every rented home in the city.

Evidence reviewed Recorded period: to Revision 1
The exact address needs a boundary check.

This is a partial-area designation. Ward names and postcodes cannot by themselves establish whether this property is covered. Use the council map or address service.

Which properties does the designation cover?

The Nottingham area edged and hatched red in Annex A of the sealed 2023 designation.

  • Privately rented homes inside the selective designation, including one person, a family or two unrelated sharers, subject to exclusions.

Scope, exclusions and separate checks

Exact address matching is manual. A valid existing licence may remain in force until its individual expiry. Nottingham additional HMO scope is not yet catalogued.

  • Part 2 HMO licensing takes precedence.
  • Registered social landlord homes, management orders, temporary exemption notices and the Annex B exempt tenancies need individual checking.

Fees and the council application

Use Nottingham’s current fee schedule and application process for your property. This record does not infer a fee from another council or a past year. A Rental Licensing subscription does not pay the council, submit an application or grant a licence.

What to do next

  1. Use the council property map and check the existing licence’s expiry.
  2. Confirm the appropriate HMO or selective route, current fee category and applicant.
